Marc Antony, 30 BC. Silver denarius minted at the Battle of Actium, where he and queen Cleopatra of Egypt were defeated by Octavian who then became Augustus, first Emperor of Rome. Legionary galley / eagle between two standards, Legion number below (worn with use centuries ago). 18 mm. Struck by Antony, some say with Cleopatra's silver, to fund his fleet against Octavian at the decisive Battle of Actium, where he was defeated.
