Sasanian Persia / Iran, c. 224 – 651 AD. A nice carnelian stamp seal with standing female figure. The body of the seal is narrow and the suspension hole is quite large with some chipping to the inside edges, suggesting the seal was originally attached to some kind of metal device. The base is nicely incised with a female figure wearing a tightly fitted dress, holding an uncertain object. Base: 15 x 8mm, W: 23mm. #061376: $225 SOLD

Golden to light red in color, with some abrasion around the edges and around the holes, most likely due to having been mounted in a gold or bronze mount in antiquity..
