Atocha Shipwreck Coins for Sale
Coins from the wreck of the famous Atocha! Sunk in the Florida Keys in 1622 and re-discovered by Mel Fisher in 1985.
Probably the most celebrated and famous Spanish galleon to be discovered in recent history. The Atocha was the admiral's ship of the Spanish 1622 fleet, which was struck by a hurricane over the reefs between the Dry Tortugas and the Florida Keys. Only five men survived the sinking, but the remains of the wreck were lost when a second hurricane struck the site only a month later.
