Nazca, Peru. Large polychrome serpent-cup, c. 150-300 AD.
Large polychrome cup depicting a serpent, tongue protruding with feline attributes. The mythological creature surrounds entire vessel. An early phase example of Classical Nazca. Measures 5 1/2" high, 5 1/2" diameter. Has a small round professional repair but it is overall in excellent condition. Ex Los Angeles collection. #m14347: $675

Beautiful wide-rimmed cup. Decorated with colorful stemmed fruit design around the body. Bright red, yellow, white and black painted details, richness of color not evident in this photo! This piece was on display at the Drexel University Museum in Philadelphia, PA. Measures 123 mm (4 3/4 inches) across. Intact, with two small vertical age cracks on rim. #bowl12a: $499


Nazca, Peru, c. 400 - 600 AD. Magnificent and rare large antara (pan flute, or panpipes), composed of colorful fabric thread tightly woven around bamboo rods. The instrument is 9 3/4" (24.9 cm) long, and intact with some age deposits. An incredible piece. The colors are great and not well represented in these photos. Must see in-hand!
